News from the Palace – June 2026
Good evening, everyone!
We’ve got a full month of great events in June – this Saturday is The Mt. Kearsarge Auto Road Drive! See the necessary info in the events section below.
There are a few out of state car shows to attend, and enough happening with club events and meetings to keep you busy all month if you choose to. Last month, due to a prior commitment Deb and I missed the ever-popular Blessing of the Fleet. This is where a priest will bless the vehicles present with holy water, virtually guaranteeing a trouble-free driving season.
Well, shortly after the event the indicator switch self-destructed on the Spitfire, the TR6 lost its brakes in the driveway, and the Ascot won’t start. A Holy Trinity of Trouble, so you can bet that we’ll be there next year!
The Spitfire switch was an easy fix once parts arrived, and all new brake hoses and wheel cylinders for the 6 are enroute.
I patronize several vendors and am extremely happy that The Roadster Factory is slowly getting back on their feet after the devastating Christmas Day Fire of 2023. After price checking three places, TRF had the lowest total price including shipping.
The Ascot is a work in progress, so when I have the time, I’ll sort out the no start. It’s definitely electrical in nature and I’m enjoying using a multi tester a lot more than I thought I would.
I’d like to encourage all our new members to attend a Council meeting in your area and submit a story about yourselves and the car (or cars) you love to Dave Swartz, our newsletter editor. He’s always looking for new stuff, and what better way to get to know you?
As always, thanks for your support and being part of British Cars of New Hampshire!

Bay State Motor Festival
June 21 @ 8:00 am – 2:00 pm – Cushing Park, Framingham, MA
Mark your calendars for this Father’s Day for an extra special event!
We are only 4 weeks out and if your club hasn’t planned to join us at the Bay State Motor Festival, please be in touch and let me know how many vehicles will be coming so we can set aside the necessary space for you to gather.
Based on the success of last year’s historic motor festival with clubs like the Yankee Region of the Bentley Rolls club, MA modifiers, MA Cruisers, British Cars of NH and BCNE, New England Mini Owners, the Pontiac Oakland Owners Club etc., we have expanded the 67 acre lawn to include your club, too.
To see what was happening last year visit baystatemotorfestival.com where you will see some of the 100’s of vintage machines including our featured “Made In Mass” exhibit. This June 21st we will feature “Made in New England” vehicles, and ALL VEHICLES and clubs are welcome to participate.
Mark on your preregistration (on the website) what club you are a member of, and we will keep count for you. You can also be in touch with any info that will expedite your entrance on Motor festival day. Visit the many museums and history centers in attendance and view the stationary engines, kid’s programs, food trucks, displays of engines for sale, meet some historic characters, take a ride in a barrel train, eat some birthday cake, and even buy a new Cadillac!
Come be amazed!
