News from the Palace – July 2026

Good afternoon, everyone!

Can you believe it’s only a few days away from July? As usual this time of year, the calendar is full of plenty of great things to do. Try to make a meeting or to one of the many events that are planned. I’m looking forward to the Friday Sundae Drive; ice cream is one of my weaknesses, and Isley’s is well known for their treats. A big plus for me is that it’s less than a mile from the Palace! British cars and ice cream, it doesn’t get much better than that.

Another event to look forward to is the Cars and Coffee at the NH Food Bank; it’s a great way to keep the giving active – just show up, have some good food and conversation, and donate to the Food Bank. It’s that easy!

I’d like to encourage all our new members to attend a Council meeting in your area and submit a story about yourselves and the car (or cars) you love to Dave Swartz, our newsletter editor. He’s always looking for new stuff, and what better way to get to know you?

As always, thanks for your support and being part of British Cars of New Hampshire!

2026 brings a year of celebration for us at 35 years, and a grand old 250 years for our country. Have a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend!

Mike

Lift Day #2, Francestown, NH

July 16 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Do you have a small task you’d like to perform on your car for which a lift would be helpful
such as inspecting the undercarriage of your car, rotating tires, changing the oil, greasing the
suspension fittings and those hard-to-reach universal joints on the propellor/half shafts?

Then come to Lift Day #2 of 2026 from 9am to noon on Thursday, July 16. The garage is well-
equipped with most required tools (including Whitworth) but bring any specialty tools needed.

If you are just looking for an excuse to take your car out for a drive and hang out with other
British car enthusiasts, also please join us. There will be coffee and muffins on hand.

Afterwards, we can head to Bob’s Chocolate Café on Main Street in Francestown before
heading home. We had a great time at Bob Britton’s Lift Day on May 16.
Please RSVP by July 12 if you plan to attend and include what tasks you want to perform on
the lift so the appropriate time can be scheduled.

Cruise to The Range, Mason, NH

July 30 @ 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

The Range in Mason, NH hosts “Cruise Night” on Thursday during the summer months.  We have requested they reserve an area for 8-12 cars for BCNH members to gather and enjoy the show.  We hope to attract some attention to the British Cars on three special dates – 6/25, 7/30, and 8/27 (last Thursday of June, July, August) and welcome members from every council with the hope you will join.

We will meet at the Country Mile, 758 Fitchburg Rd, Greenville, NH 03048 at 4:30 PM and depart as a group for the one-mile drive to the Range at 4:45PM.  This will allow us to park as a group before other vehicles arrive at 5 PM.  Food and beverages are available.  The car show parking is on the lawn so it is cancelled in the event of rain.  Please RSVP to Ray Scholl at rfscholl@gmail.com by the Wednesday before the event if you are planning to attend so we can provide a vehicle count to the Range and make sure we have everyone before departing the Country Mile.  The Range understands we may choose to leave ahead of closing so feel free to come and enjoy, leave while it is easy to drive home.
