Update from Jonathan,
I’m really looking forward to the dustoff tour! We need to meet at the Red Raven a tad earlier than intimated earlier (11:00 a.m.) and to go in for lunch promptly when they open at 11:30. We don’t have a reservation, but they will accommodate us as best they can, indoors or out. If they are unable to accommodate all of us there are two alternative dining options in the strip mall and the As Good As It Gets Café at the entrance to the property.
The weather is looking mostly OK; Channel 5 is forecasting low 70s but with the potential for pop up showers and even possibly thundershowers on Sunday afternoon.
BCNH has been invited to this event by the Morgan Club.
Now that so many of us are fully vaccinated, let’s get the 2021 Morganeering season rolling with a reprise of the dustoff drive I led in Massachusetts two years ago.
We’ll meet 11:30 a.m. for brunch at the Red Raven Tavern gastropub, 3 Nagog Park, Acton, MA, three miles down Route 2A from Interstate 495. Turn off 2A at the traffic lights by the As Good as It Gets Café onto Nagog Park strip mall and at the triangle turn right for the Red Raven, which is in the far corner of the site.
Around 1 p.m. we’ll set off on a 27-mile drive for a drive through the area’s beautiful countryside, ending mid-afternoon at an ice cream stand. There will be a break at the Old North Bridge state park in Concord for the bathrooms and/or a leg stretching amble down to the historic battle site. We’ll end the drive at Kimball Farm Carlisle where—if the weather cooperates—we’ll enjoy some ice cream.
Since I need to let the restaurant know how many cars and people will be showing up, please let me know you are planning to participate or subsequently have to cancel. Rain date Sunday May 23rd
Email me at [email protected]or text me at 339-223-6052—and I’ll get back to you with more details.
