New England Triumphs Twin Mountain Fall Tour
The tour starts with a short 8 mile ride to entrance of Mount Wachusett mountain rd. The summit is a new 2.2 mile road ride up offering views of Boston skyline if weather is clear. Toll is $5 per car, or $10 if out of state. Seniors are free with a MASSPARKS Pass. www.mass.gov/dcr. When we signed up the Pass was $10 and good for life. Base lodge has everything, but we are not planning to spend a lot of time there since the next leg of the tour is a good ride.
The next segment is 26 miles to Cathedral Of The Pines, in Rindge NH. Outdoor cathedral, monument, beautiful gardens and stunning close up view of Mount Monadnock, one of the most climbed mountains in the world.
Final segment is 15 miles and we end at Duphily residence in the woods in Ashburnham, MA. Burgers, dogs and clam chowder on us. Fire ring and a nice view of our first stop. Lou will have bottled water, soda.
Total travel time with stops is 3 hours.
Don’t forget your NET or BCNH name badge.
Tour organized by Lou and Nancy Duphily.
